Goals

• Defend my PhD research proposal.
• Submit manuscript about ABCs for gas dynamics (piston problem).
• Have a fully working 2d implementation of Escalante’s disperisve system in Geoclaw.
• Test Geoclaw implementation with several real world experiments.
• Prepare a good presentation for ECCOMAS.

Travel

• (March 3 - May 31) ICM Special Program: “Numerical Methods for Nonlinear Hyperbolic PDEs”. SUSTech, Shenzhen, China.
• (June 3-7) ECCOMAS. Lisbon, Portugal.

Jan 20 - 25:

• Finish revisions of the piston problem paper.
• Finish the abstract for the PhD proposal and contact the potential committee members.
• Apply for a Chinese visa.

Prepare for meeting with collaborators on GeoClaw project
